A New Chapter: Emirates Steel Arkan Becomes EMSTEEL

Emirates Steel Arkan, the largest publicly listed steel and building materials company in the UAE, has officially rebranded as EMSTEEL. The new identity was unveiled during a grand event in Abu Dhabi, attended by esteemed dignitaries and over 400 guests, including customers, partners, and employees.

This rebranding signifies the successful merger of Emirates Steel and Arkan Building Materials, which was finalized in the fourth quarter of 2021. This merger established EMSTEEL as a formidable player in the construction materials industry, with a valuation of approximately $3.54 billion (AED 13 billion). The company is now poised for significant growth in both the UAE and international markets.

Under the EMSTEEL brand, operations will initially be divided into two key divisions: Emirates Steel and Emirates Cement. The Emirates Cement division comprises several well-known entities, including Al Ain Cement Factory, Emirates Blocks Factories, ANABEEB, and Arkan Bags.

EMSTEEL holds an impressive 11% share of Abu Dhabi’s manufacturing output and commands a significant 60% share of the UAE’s steel market. With a robust operational capacity, the group operates 16 plants, yielding an annual production capacity of 3.5 million tonnes of steel and 4.6 million tonnes of cement. Furthermore, EMSTEEL exports its products to over 70 markets worldwide, which constitute 30% of its total sales.

The rebranding to EMSTEEL reflects the company’s commitment to innovation and excellence in the steel and building materials sector, setting the stage for future growth and development.
